Reviler.org wrote a very accurate, positive review of Jim's solo project Jim and the French Vanilla. It links The Blind Shake to Michael Yonkers' more folk style recordings. Good call. I didn't even think of that, but it is true. The band, and Jim in this case, is very influenced by more than Microminiature Love. Lovely Gold is one Yonkers LP that the three of us listen to on tour more than any other album.
Get Jim and the French Vanilla's LP called II at the Kitty Kat on Thursday, March 1st. Only 100 printed. Of course, you still have the itunes/digital option, but you'll find that holding LP artwork is more fun than holding a digital illusion, much like your recent family photos.

Interview in Basement Show Girls
Here is a link to an interview conducted by our good buddy Ezra Silver for Basement Show Girls. It took place right before our January 7th show at the Turf Club in St. Paul. Check out the cool collage work by Ezra!
About Basement Show Girls
Basement Show Girls is a website dedicated to music and comic books edited by Ezra Silver and Max Schramm. The site focuses particularly on comics that have found themselves overlooked and under appreciated. These comics, while perhaps dated, are nevertheless relevant cultural artifacts and pieces of a literary heritage that is, these editors find, worthy of exploration and discourse.
Beyond this, music discussions focus on but are not exclusive to artists from the Twin Cities area.
Basesg hopes to bring you content each week day. Mondays feature articles or interviews. Tuesday-Thursdays feature comics rendered by Ray Slao. Fridays feature a podcast compiled by Max or Ezra.
